Privacy Policy
This document explains what StreamScout collects, why it is needed, how long it is kept and what you can ask us to do with it. We try to collect as little as possible: the service carries no third-party advertising or analytics script at all.
1. Account data
At registration we store your email address and your password as an irreversible hash — the original password is never stored and cannot be recovered, by us or by anyone else. You may also add an avatar and an interface language.
This is what lets you sign in, keeps your saved lists and settings attached to your account, and lets us answer you on support matters.
2. Usage statistics
We record which parts of the site are opened and where on a page people click, so we can see what works and what gets in the way. Only the click itself and the page address are recorded: cursor movement is not tracked and page contents are not captured.
Addresses are normalised: thousands of individual channel pages count as one entry rather than thousands. That way the statistics show which sections are used, instead of becoming a list of who looked at which channel.
A signed-out visitor is represented by a hash of their address, their browser and the current date, salted with a server secret. That string cannot be turned back into an address, and it changes at midnight UTC — a permanent identifier is not something we need.
3. Data about streamers
Information about channels, broadcasts and contacts comes from open sources — the platforms' public APIs and publicly visible channel descriptions. We do not obtain or hold private data belonging to creators.
If you are a channel owner and want your contact details hidden in the service, write to us and we will remove them.
4. The Twitch extension
Our Twitch panel shows a streamer and their viewers which countries are watching the stream right now. It opens in the viewer's browser, and we see their network address the same way we see the address of any visitor to the site.
The address is never stored. It becomes a country code in the server's memory, in the same millisecond, and from then on only the country exists. Neither the address nor anything derived from it is written to disk.
What remains of a viewer is an opaque identifier issued by Twitch itself. It differs for the same person on different channels, carries no name or account, and exists for exactly one reason: so that one viewer is not counted several times within five minutes.
The count lives for five minutes: someone who stops watching drops out of it on their own, with no action from us. No history is kept — not per viewer, not per country, not per channel.
5. Your outreach
If you connect a mailbox for sending messages, its credentials are stored encrypted and used only to send the messages you initiate. We do not read your correspondence and never send anything on your behalf on our own initiative.
A connected mailbox can be disconnected at any time, and its credentials are deleted when you do.
6. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell or hand your data to third parties for marketing. Sharing is limited to the infrastructure providers without which the service cannot run: hosting, mail delivery and payment processing.
We may disclose information on a well-founded request from a competent authority where the law requires it.
7. How long we keep it
Account data is kept for as long as the account exists. Usage statistics are kept in aggregate and cannot be tied to a particular person once the daily hash has rotated.
When an account is deleted, the personal data attached to it is deleted with it; backups may retain it for up to thirty more days, after which it disappears along with the backup.
8. Your rights
You may ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or fully deleted, and withdraw your consent to processing. Writing to us from the address on your account is enough.
9. Security
Connections to the site are protected by TLS, passwords are stored only as hashes, and access to the production databases is restricted. No service can promise perfect security, but we undertake to notify you if an incident affects your data.
10. Contact
